[PIAS] never fails to surprise you: 3 names have been added to the bill for the [PIAS] Nites 2012!
We are proud at [PIAS] to announce you that Tom Smith (Editors), Joan As Police Woman and Oscar & The Wolf have been confirmed on February 16th @ Tour&Taxis.
TOM SMITH Part time Funny Looking Angel but mainly the charismatic frontman from EDITORS, who recently surprised us all with a Christmas album. In 2012 the band will start work on the follow-up to their platinum-selling album ‘In This Light And On This Evening’. With #1 hits like ‘Papillon’ and ‘No Sound But The Wind’ EDITORS is one of the biggest recent [PIAS] success stories. Reason enough for us to invite Tom Smith to [PIAS] 30th anniversary celebration, for a very exclusive, one-off solo performance. Be prepared for stripped down, beautiful renditions of ‘And End Has A Start’, ‘Smokers Outside The Hospital Doors’ and many more.
JOAN AS POLICE WOMAN: a birthday party isn’t really complete without a run-in with the law! That is why adding New York-based singer-songwriter Joan Wasser, a.k.a. Joan As Police Woman, to the bill was a given for us. Her third album ‘The Deep Field’ was a huge success earlier this year – indie-Motown at its very best! Swinging, touching and beautifully arranged. Do not sleep!
OSCAR & THE WOLF: This very recent signing to our label is, in our opinion, one of the most promising Belgian bands of 2012! This Ghent-based band has made its mark in Brussels already, has toured around Europe and opened for bands like Warpaint and Mercury Rev. Their first album will be released in 2012.
