PLAY IT AGAIN SAM, beter bekend als [PIAS], werd opgericht in 1983 door Kenny Gates en Michel Lambot. [PIAS] richtte zich eerst op de distributie van geïmporteerde platen in België, maar zag al snel mogelijkheden om zich ook te gaan vestigen in andere Europese landen. [PIAS] heeft inmiddels kantoren in België, Nederland, Groot-Brittannië, Duitsland, Frankrijk, Spanje, Oostenrijk en zelfs de Verenigde Staten. Verder heeft [PIAS] een heel netwerk van exclusieve distributeurs, dat bijna de hele wereld beslaat.

[PIAS] bestaat sinds 1990 in Nederland en verzorgt hier de marketing, promotie en distributie van tientallen labels en artiesten. [PIAS] zorgt ervoor dat de albums van Prodigy (XL recordings), Tom Waits (Anti/Epitaph), Soulwax (PIAS recordings), Les Rhythmes Digitales (Wall Of Sound) en vele anderen in de Nederlandse platenwinkels te vinden zijn. De onweerstaanbare kracht waardoor dit allemaal mogelijk werd is nog steeds onveranderd. Noem het PASSIE. Een werkethiek waarbij de artiest, of nog liever muziek, voorop staat. [PIAS] staat voor een breed scala van innovatief en vernieuwend talent. De combinatie van fantastische muziek en commercieel inzicht, zorgen ervoor dat [PIAS] de vrijheid heeft om de bands te tekenen waarvan ze houden om die vervolgens met hart en ziel te promoten. Zonder [PIAS] en aan hen verwante bedrijven zou je waarschijnlijk nooit gehoord hebben van acts zoals St. Germain, Sigur Ros, Laurent Garnier, Front 242 en Soulwax.

Sinds 2004 is PIAS aktief op de comedy markt in zowel binnen- als buitenland via ´t door Leon Happé en Leo van Schaick opgerichte [PIAS] Comedy, onderdeel van de [PIAS] Entertainment Group. Naast alle mogelijke service op ´t gebied van exploitatie (DVD, TV, digitaal, mobiel enz.) is [PIAS] Comedy ook aktief op ´t gebied van ´t live promoten van buitenlandse comedians in Europa.
