As well as discovering and investing in our own roster, we partner with a family of independent labels to make sure their music gets noticed everywhere.Invariably, these labels were founded by visionaries with a strong sense of culture. We fully believe that music makes the world a better place. But we also believe the world should give better music the place it deserves.
Independent. It’s an important word for all of us at [PIAS] – one that defines our company culture, our ownership structure and our entire mindset.
Today, [PIAS] is a 250-strong global team supporting the cream of independent music across the globe. But back when we started, more than three decades ago, [PIAS] was two guys in a basement in Brussels, fighting to make the public aware of artists they thought were brilliant.
Those two guys – Kenny Gates and Michel Lambot – remain at the top of our business. They might have a few more wrinkles than they did in 1984, but they still make it clear to everyone within [PIAS] that our prime goal is to boost brilliant artists.
It’s just that these days, they do so on a worldwide scale.
