Watford-born rock goddess, Connie Constance steps commandingly into her power with new single ‘Miss Power’, a hard and heroic, tough yet tender follow-up to previous EPs, ‘The Butterfly Club’ and ‘Prim & Propa’. ‘Miss Power’ is incontrovertible evidence that Connie is a major player in the punk/indie scene and is the first single to be released via new label home, Play It Again Sam.

On the single, Connie says: “A classic Connie Constance indie banger if I do say so myself. This song is about being in your power, feeling free from any mental or physical or financial restraints. This is my f*ck you, and your opinions, I don’t need you, I’ve got me song.”

‘Miss Power’ is accompanied by a magical video created by Connie and directed by Jess Woodley. Connie says, “this video is a first look into my world. I was taught growing up to go to the bottom of the garden and leave a cupcake or something shiny and fairy might grant you a wish and I think finally some of those wishes are coming true. Follow me as I find my powers in an enchanted forest and meet some friends and foes along the way.”

Having recently supported the Nova Twins, Connie is feeling energised by the duo’s cult fan base and assured that black women in alternative music needn’t be thought of as a risky niche. Connie’s own UK headline tour sold out way in advance and her uncompromising and visceral performance at The Great Escape earlier this month was a roadblock and real festival highlight. Further live dates will be announced shortly.
