#LoveRecordStores, the campaign launched earlier this year to raise awareness around the challenges faced by record stores during the COVID-19 pandemic has revealed its Top 100 Independent Albums of 2020! The list is this year’s favourite releases from independent labels voted for by a cross-section of notable independent record stores in the UK.

This year’s Independent Album of the Year has been announced as ‘Sixteen Oceans’ by Four Tet, which was released on Text Records just before the UK’s first national lockdown in March.

We are delighted to see Idles, BC Camplight, Modern Nature, Tim Burgess, The Orielles, Working Men’s Club, Daniel Blumberg, Fontaines D.C., Laura Marling, Pottery, Daniel Avery & Alessandro Cortini, Black Pumas, Mark Lanegan, Baxter Dury, Daniel Avery, Ghostpoet and Trees Speak all in that Top 100 List – right where they should be!

A full listing of the Top 100 albums can be found HERE.

But there’s more! To celebrate this initiative, 191 independent record stores across the UK will be making 95 new and exclusive vinyl pressings of albums included in the list available to buy and pre-order from 6pm on Saturday, December 5th.
