“…a folk space hip hop drum ballad!” Yep, we know you’re going to want to hear this.

VEN is the new artistic project from Circa Waves frontman Kieran Shudall, and today he has shared his new single and official video for ‘Sorry’ alongside the announcement of his debut, self-titled EP, due out May 28th, 2021. “Sorry is a cinematic experience” explains Shudall about his newest single. “Treating an acoustic guitar like a synth. It’s a folk space hip hop drum ballad!”

‘Sorry’, is the third track to be released under Shudall’s new moniker and follows singles ‘hey bro’ and ‘H8 Lovin’. The new project offers a unique and intimate insight into the more personal inner workings of Shudall’s creative mind, offering a fresh space for an unfettered musical output to explore a more experimental and electronic-leaning sound.

Opening with debut single ‘H8 Lovin’ and featuring two yet-unheard new tracksBurning Away’ and ‘Girl In Blue, the 5-track EP weaves a course between melancholic intimacy and cinematic soundscapes, across spartan strings and thrashing synths. Exploring themes of friendship, loneliness, and the struggle of committing to honest emotions; the new EP explores marrying life’s heavy emotions with the mundane moments of the everyday.

“The VEN EP is a collection of feelings. 5 tracks to become enveloped in. I hope all the hours I’ve put in can give you 15 minutes of escapism” explains Shuddall. “It’s headphone music for introverts.”
